  • Download the Residency Questionnaire and Residency Checklist.
  • Use the Residency Checklist to assemble your required documents. 
  • Complete both pages of the Residency Questionnaire. 
  • Your completed Residency Application will include:
    • Residency Questionnaire
    • Residency Checklist
    • Required documents listed on the Checklist. Failure to submit appropriate documentation will significantly delay any decisions regarding your residency or may result in denial of residency.
  • To expedite the review of your residency questionnaire, please provide only the required documentation. Excessive and unnecessary documentation will delay review.
  • Submit your application to The Office of the Registrar for Undergraduate, Vet Med, and Pharmacy students and to The Graduate School for Graduate students. Information is located on the Contact Us page.
A Few Tips
  • The Washington Vehicle Registration can be used to determine residency. The vehicle's Title of Ownership can not be used.
  • Housing documents needed show the date of the lease and signatures, usually the first and last page of a lease. Do not submit the other pages.
  • We do not need most identifying numbers listed on the documents submitted. One exception: Please leave the last 4 digits of the student's Social Security Number, if it's shown, on the parent's Federal Income Tax Transcript. You should block out all other identifying numbers.
  • Tax records are only needed for the previous calendar year and this calendar year, if applicable. Do not send tax records for other years.
  • The tax documentation for parents is used solely to determine if the student was claimed as a dependent (for dependent applicants) or was not claimed (for independent applicants). Financial information is not needed on the parent's tax documentation.
