WSU Residency Tool
We created residency tools to help determine eligibility for resident tuition at WSU. The tools will not track personal information. The tool is NOT the residency application.
Which tool should I use?
- General Residency Tool. Best for most students.
- American Indian Tool. For members of an American Indian tribe.
The tool says I'm eligible. Now what?
- Traditional applications: Download the appropriate checklist to assemble your documents before starting the application. Apply for residency up to 60 days prior to the term and no later than 30 days into the term that you want resident tuition to begin.
- Residency Affidavit: Check the application to see which terms are currently available. This application can be processed earlier for students who are currently attending a Washington high school.
The tool says I am NOT eligible now. Can I apply later?
Yes. We review applications for Fall and Spring semesters. Visit the Future Residency page for actions that you can take now to be eligible for resident tuition in a future semester.
