Residency Review Request
If you believe that your residency has been incorrectly coded as Non-Resident, submit a Residency Review Request to initiate a review of your residency status by the Residency Officer.
Use the Residency Review Request when:
- You incorrectly stated that you were a non-resident of Washington on your application.
- You gained residency through the residency application process and believe that myWSU is not coded correctly.
- You believe that you are a resident, but WSU has coded you as non-resident.
Most students will need to apply for residency using one of our residency applications. This review request does not replace the application process and is intended for students who believe that there is an error in their residency coding. Take a Residency Quiz to see if you're eligible for residency and should apply using one of our residency applications.
Use a residency application in these circumstances
- You lived in Washington for 12 months or longer before attending WSU or any Washington college for more than 6 credits per term. Use the Residency Affidavit.
- You are military-affiliated and eligible for VA Educational Benefits. Use the Military Residency Application.
- You do not live in Washington, but a parent, step-parent, or legal guardian does live in Washington. Use the Traditional Application and apply as Financially Dependent.
- You are an American Indian with historic tribal ties to Washington. More information on American Indian Residency.
