If you are granted residency, we will send you an email to your WSU email address. If you missed the email or are wondering if the update has been applied, you can now view your status in myWSU. Once residency is granted, you do not need to apply for it again unless you re-apply at WSU.

Your residency is visible by school term; you can change the term to view a different school year.
Military residency allows certain military-affiliated students the benefit of resident tuition. Students are coded as Non-Residents. Cost of Attendance is calculated at the Non-Resident rate and financial aid will adjust the tuition amount at some point before tuition is due. You can view WSU's Cost of Attendance to calculate the difference between resident and non-resident tuition. If your tuition does not eventually adjust, contact us.
Some military residency students may be eligible for full residency. If the student is a dependent with a parent who has maintained their Washington ties, or a financially independent student who has lived in Washington for 12 months, there may be benefits to taking the extra steps to become a full resident. Your cost of attendance will show the correct amount each term and you may be eligible for additional financial aid. Take the Residency Quiz to see if you are eligible.
Though not easy to find, you can check the amount of your tuition bill to determine if your residency has been updated in myWSU. Please allow at least five (5) business days for Financial Aid to repackage your aid and re-calculate your bill.
