What types of visas can NOT be used to establish residency in Washington?

Certain VISAs are not eligible for establishing residency in Washington state for tuition purposes as they require a domicile elsewhere. They are:

B, C, D, F, H-1B1, H-2, H-3, J, M, P, TD, TN, WB, WT

Students with listed visas may be eligible for residency using the Residency Affidavit if they attended a Washington high school or were otherwise domiciled in the US for 12 months prior to starting at a Washington college. If you are using a F or J visa, ALWAYS consult International Programs before applying for residency as this step will negatively impact you future immigration benefits or visa applications such as Optional Practical Training.
